Klezmer Kollectiv: Where were you before Prohibition? – N. Brandwein

www.klezmerkollectiv.com 1920′s New York; well remembered for Jazz musicians such as Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey but have you heard of Naftule Brandwein? or Dave Tarras? Although less well known names today, these Klezmer players were as well known as any Jazz musician at the time. The Klezmer Kollectiv is a group who recreate the energy and atmosphere of the Klezmer side of the Roaring ’20′s. Shown here are some rare images of the band along with their recording of N. Brandwein’s ‘Wie bist die gewesen vor Prohibition’

In 2008 I was asked by DroemerKnaur – a well known german publishing house – to write a song for a book about a dog and a man, written by the also well known and wonderful US-author Garth Stein. So here is the result: “Enzo’s Song” (The Moment when you fall) for “The Art of Racing in the Rain” (German: Enzo – die Kunst ein Mensch zu sein), Garth Stein’s bestselling novel. (You MUST read it!) Music, lyrics and video by Martin Odstrcil. Thanks for visiting ! And if you like to visit Garth Stein’s homepage: www.garthstein.com. More of my music on www.myspace.com/martinodstrcil. “I just want to say that I’m a huge fan of Enzo’s Song ( The Moment when You fall ). Thank you so much! It brings tears in my eyes . . .” ( Garth Stein )

Ich liebe den Song und es sollte doch mit dem … zugehen, wenn das nicht der Titelsong zum Enzo-Film werden würde. Ich wünsche es mir.
